VICTORIA KIMANI AND BEYONCE |
Kenyan singer, Victoria Kimani, has reacted to Beyonce’s inclusion of Nigerian artistes in her new Lion King album
Beyonce had featured a number of Nigerian stars on the album including Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Mr Eazi and Tekno
Kimani revealed in a tweet that though she is happy for her fellow African artistes, she finds the exclusion of Kenyan singers from the project depressing
Music in Africa is constantly growing beyond some singer’s wildest imaginations and a number of them have been opportune to work on big projects with international artistes.
Interestingly, Nigerian music seems to have gained wide recognition in many parts of the world that even very big-named foreign stars want to work with them.
Just recently, Beyonce featured a number of Nigerian artistes on her Lion King album to the joy of fans. Some of the artistes includes Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Wizkid and Mr Eazi.
Despite the good news, not everyone seems happy at the queen bee’s choice of featured artistes. Kenyan singer, Victoria Kimani, took to her Twitter page to react to the news.
According to Kimani, even though she is happy for her fellow African artistes, she is not pleased that Kenyan singers were excluded from the project.
She tweeted further that the thought of it is depressing seeing as the Lion King movie is based on Kenya.

As much as we celebrate with our fellow Africans .... The obvious exclusion of Kenyans / East Africans on this Soundtrack is Depressing.... The movie was based on KENYA 🇰🇪— VICTORIA KIMANI (@VICTORIA_KIMANI) July 16, 2019

Chamber feels that Beyonce was not wrong for her choice because we are all Africans regardless:
She needed the best and famous African artists to work with... Sorry East Africans didn’t make the list, they should work harder( Be marketable).— Heaven 🇳🇬🦅 (@i_am50) July 16, 2019
Heaven explained that Beyonce needed the best and famous African artistes to work with and that East Africans should focus on being marketable.

Obviously elated about meeting the queen, she shared a photo and clip of them exchanging pleasantries at the gracious occasion.Don't worry the queen bee would do an extra song ,so she can feature you pipo separately, rada rada pic.twitter.com/9YWKVtFCB3— MAYOR of CAPETOWN .💘✂️📌.🇳🇬🇿🇦 (@blaqmayor_) July 17, 2019
Almost all parts of Africa are happy and feel blessed to be a part of this album. And with East Africa being left out, it hurts to be in your shoes. But we all recognise there are numerous creatives there. Beyoncé did this, but we can only put each other on when we get there.— praiz (@AweleNwandu) July 16, 2019
Yemi who looked dashing in her simple yet classy outfit could be seen saying a brief hello to JayZ, who is currently the richest black hip hop artiste on the planet, before she stood right beside Beyonce to take photos and pay homage to the queen herself.
