AFCON 2019: Moses reacts to Nigeria’s 2-1 defeat to Algeria in semi-final to Algeria in semi-final
Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon, is confident that he and his team-mates will recover from their 2-1 defeat to Algeria ahead of Wednesday’s third-place playoff.
William Troost-Ekong’s own goal gave the Desert Foxes the lead, before Odion Ighalo leveled in the second half.
However, with the last kick of the match, Riyad Mahrez smashed in a free-kick past Daniel Akpeyi.
Defeat to Algeria means Nigeria has been eliminated in five of their last six semi-finals at AFCON, after qualifying in six of their previous seven.
